One of the most famous golf courses of the island is the Abama Golf at Playa San Juan. The golf course offers 22 golf course lakes and over 90,000 palm trees. It has 18 holes. Abama Golf is considered an architectural masterpiece of golf legend David Thomas. The Abama Golf has a unique view over the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful neighbouring island of La Gomera.
Very popular is the golf course Amarilla Golf & Country Club on the south coast of Tenerife. The golf course is located in San Miguel de Abona and was designed by the famous Donald Steel. You can enjoy the magnificent view of Spain's highest mountain, El Teide while playing a game of golf. The Amarilla Golf Course also offers 18 holes.
The Golf Costa Adeje consists of 27 holes and impresses with its breathtaking scenery. From the fairway you have a wonderful view to the mountains of Adeje and the neighboring island of La Gomera. The cozy clubhouse invites you to linger and have a nice cool drink. A special feature is the driving range, which the golfer and his buggy can reach via the elevator.
The Golf del Sur has hosted many PGA tournaments since its opening in 1987. It offers 27 holes and is surrounded by typical island cactus and palm trees. Professional players will get in sweat at hole 3 and hole 4. In 1999, Karl Woodward set his world record about 373 meters here.
The Buenavista Golf was built in 2003 and is an 18 hole golf course. From here you have a breathtaking view to the Teno Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. The difficulty on this golf course is that some holes are very close to the water. A special highlight is hole 9 and hole 18, which are connected by a waterfall.
At the Golf Las Americas, the water is a real obstacle for golfers. The golf course was built in 1998 and designed by John Jacobs. It has 18 holes and is located directly at Playa de las Americas. The golf course is 6,051 meters long.
